February 14th
Valentine’s Day, a day which celebrates love and passion, is observed each year on the 14th of February. The Middle Ages were a time when love was commonplace and ceremonies were more widespread.

Valentine’s Day is traditionally marked by giving your loved ones a gift of chocolate or candy, along with an arrangement or card. It is also possible to gift them jewelry.
February 2nd.
Groundhog Day falls on February 2. It is also celebrated in Canada but it is American Thanksgiving.
This celebration was born of beliefs that were derived from Pennsylvanians as well as Dutch people. However, Americans gained the tradition of making predictions about weather through German immigrants. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that makes predictions for the remainder of winter.
After scientists found out that mice hibernated in winter, they set the foundation for this custom. It was planned to predict the next six weeks by studying how animals respond to weather conditions.
Groundhogs are part of the Sciuridae which is a tiny family of mammals with hairy fur. In winter, their primary purpose is to stay in hibernation. On Groundhog Day, they are often visible peeking out of burrows.
Christmas Day
The third Monday of February is known as Presidents’ Daylight. It is an official holiday for the United States of America. It pays tribute to past American presidents. It was a time to pay tribute to both Lincoln and Washington.
It’s a national holiday that not all states observe, despite it being one. Some states celebrate the birthdays of both presidents at the same time, whereas other states only recognize only one president. The Presidents Day holiday is an occasion to celebrate all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
There is a complicated history behind Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was the first name of the event. It is now Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday also known as Washington’s Day is a well-known unofficial holiday. In the 1870s, however it became a federally recognized holiday. Congress passed the Uniform Monday Day Holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Each year, Earth rotates around its sun. Small meteors are released into the atmosphere. They are visible from anywhere in the sky. Certain showers are more stunning than others. The best time to view them is at night.
Perseids is among the most beautiful and impressive meteor showers of the year 2018. It is because the comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was the primary cause. It is visible from the Northern Hemisphere. But, since the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most impressive fireballs, it makes sense to also look at the phenomenon from the Southern Hemisphere.
There are four major meteor Showers each year. One of the most famous meteor showers is the Quadrantid. It is famous for its small but extremely strong peak. The other is the Lyrid. It is famous for its odd surges. The Geminid is famous for its sexy appearance.
Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia was among the most well-liked holidays in the past of Rome. The month of February was when a fertility cleansing ceremony was held. Priests offered sacrifices of animals at the altar for the Lapis Nuiger at the time of the ceremony. The hearth was stuffed with the animal’s blood. The belief was that this would benefit grain crops by ensuring fertility and securing the plants from harm.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration, was celebrated in honor of Ceres, the harvest goddess. Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented as far back as the year 202 BC.
Other popular Roman festivities include Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. These celebrations were initially intended to celebrate Mars the god of war.
The Roman week was eight days long. Each day had two parts: the morning or the afternoon. Nundin was an 8-day collection, the rest of the year comprised of 29 days.
