Valentine’s Day is an annual holiday that celebrates love, passion and is observed on February 14. The celebration’s roots can be traced back to the Middle Ages when courtly love and sacraments were well-known.

Scientists have discovered that mice hibernated during winter. The aim was to predict the weather for the remaining six weeks, by watching how animals react to it.

Groundhogs are part of the Sciuridae, a small family of mammals that have hair. It hibernates during winter. On the morning of Groundhog Day, they are often seen looking out of their burrows.

Presidents Daylight is observed on the third Monday of February, is considered to be an official holiday of the United States. It is an honor to all previous American presidents. It is a holiday that is dedicated to the two presidents, Lincoln, Washington, and is Presidents’ Day since its inception.

Although it’s an annual holiday of the United States, many states don’t observe it. Some states celebrate both the birthdays of presidents on the exact same day while other states only honor one. The Presidents Day is now an occasion to celebrate all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.

The history of the Presidents’ Day holiday is complex. Washington’s Birthday was the first name of this celebration.

Washington’s Birthday, commonly known as Washington’s Day, is an non-official holiday, but it is well-known. In the late 1870s, it became a federal holiday. In response, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.

Meteor showers

Each year, Earth’s orbit rotates around the sun. A stream of tiny meteors are released into space. They appear virtually everywhere in the sky. Some showers are more stunning than others. The best time to watch.

Roman holidays from antiquity

The Lupercalia was a popular festival in ancient Rome. A cleansing and fertility ceremony took place in the middle of February. Priests offered sacrifices of animals at the altar to the Lapis Nuiger at the time of the ceremony. The hearth was cleansed with the blood of the animal. The protection and fertility of the blood is believed to have been beneficial to the field of grain.

Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to celebrate Ceres (the goddess of the harvest). Since the year 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations have been recorded.

Other popular Roman festivities are Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. They were initially held in honor of Mars, the god of war.Vestalia, according to some academics, was the most well-liked among the three.
