Although it’s a national holiday, many states do not observe it. Some states honor the birthdays of both presidents at the same time, whereas others only honor only one. But, Presidents’ Day is now widely accepted as a means of honoring the achievements of all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.

There is a long and complicated story that explains Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was the original title of the holiday, which is now known as Presidents’ Day.

Washington’s birthday, often referred to by the name Washington’s Day was a well-known nonofficial holiday. In the 1870s however it became an official holiday recognized by the federal government. In response, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.

Meteor showers

Each year each year, the Earth is in orbit around the sun, creating tiny meteors to be released into space. They can appear anywhere in the sky. Certain showers are more stunning than others. Nighttime is often the best time to watch.
